Leonilo B. Langreo, known as "Nilo," passed away January 17, 2016, at 53 years old. Born to a fisherman in Manila, Philippines, Nilo attended the University of the East, Manila, Philippines graduating with an Electrical Engineering degree. Early on Nilo gave his life to the Lord and became a fisher of men like his Savior. He worked for a variety of engineering firms including a stint in Saudi Arabia. He arrived at Walter Reed Regional Medical Center in 2009. As a U.S. Department of Defense civilian employee, he played a vital role in maintaining the integrity of the various facilities. Nilo enjoyed his job ~ going way beyond the call of duty to help his colleagues both at work and afterwards. As a people-person, Nilo never met a stranger. He loved helping others and freely giving his time and resources. He enjoyed singing in the church choir, playing basketball with the young pups, fishing with his family and friends, and skiing downhill with wild abandon! He also enjoyed adventure holding up a live electrical wire during a typhoon for a van to drive under and taking a ferry across the Bohol Sea, Philippines in the midst of the storm. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Tess; sons Joseph and Christopher; mother Manuela, and brothers Nathaniel, Ronaldo, Rolando, and Igmedio Jr. plus one sister, Jasmin.Viewing is Wednesday, January 20 from 3:00-5:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 Crain Highway, Bowie, MD 20715. A celebration of Nilo’s life is on Thursday, January 21 (12 noon) at Grace Baptist Church, 7210 Race Track Road, Bowie, MD 20715 with Pastor Mark Tanious officiating. Memorial donations in memory of Nilo can be made to Grace Baptist Church, [Langreo Family], 7210 Race Track Road, Bowie, MD 20715. In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates financial donations, which will go towards the church and Pancreatic Cancer Research.
