Louise Shinn Day

Louise Shinn Day born December 21, 1922 and died December 19, 2015.  Louise grew up in Riverdale, Maryland and married her childhood sweetheart Louis A Day Jr in 1945.  They lived in Silver Spring, Beltsville, Kent Island, and finally at Oyster Cove in Grasonville, Maryland.  She worked over 20 years at NASA in Greenbelt helping with the Columbia Space Shuttle exploration. Once retired, Louise enjoyed living on the water, boating, swimming, bike riding, gardening,crabbing and playing golf with her husband of over 60 years.  Louise is survived by her two daughters, Suzanne Day Sloan of Denton, Maryland and Donna Day Wachter of Crofton, Maryland.  She also had eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren that gave her immense joy. She will always be remembered for her kind heart, sweet disposition and love of family.
