Robert Joseph Madden was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 20, 1929. "Bob" was raised in Buffalo NY by his parents the late John T. Madden and the late Phyllis Patricia Madden(Melody). He is a 1951 graduate of Canisius College. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 47 years, Mary D. Madden (Hoelscher) and two brothers, James Madden and John T. Madden Jr., as well as his sister, the late Patricia Ballaro. He is the loving father of his seven surviving children: Robert J. Madden, Jr. (Janell), Mary C. Madden (Pete Ross), Thomas J. Madden (Robin), Deborah J. Hobby (James), Brian J, Madden, Susan E. Haley (Paul), and Patricia L. Kepner. He will be dearly missed by his 12 grandchildren: Paul Madden (Gretchen), Lauren Palmer (Joe), Kristen Haley, Patrick Haley, David Johnson, Susan Simmons (Jeremy), Christopher Madden, Timothy Madden, Ryan Kepner, Jason Kepner, Luke Kepner, and Ashley Lewis (Zack), and his 5 great-grandchildren Finn Madden, Piper Madden, Lily Madden, Jack Porter Madden, and Emma Simmons. Bob was an avid golfer, and loved to fish and travel. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus as well as a past Grand Knight in the organization. Bob was a lifelong worker and retiree at Sears Roebuck & Company and followed his career path to the Maryland area in 1960, living in Seabrook, Crofton and Gambrills.
