Kent W. Warnken

Dr. Kent Wayne Warnken, born in Dallas, Texas on April 27, 1971, was called to eternal life on November 19th, 2015 at the age of 44 after a courageous 21 month battle against cancer during which time he had a never-give-up attitude.  Kent was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jerome and Rosalie Dziuk of Falls City, Texas, and paternal grandparents, Edwin and Carrie Warnken of Poth, Texas.  Kent is survived by his loving wife Alexandra, his two beautiful daughters, Masha and Maya of Crofton, Maryland, his parents Harvey and Evelyn of San Antonio, Texas, his three brothers, Mark of New Braunfels, Texas, Wade of Houston, Texas, and Dale, his wife Robin and their children, Dawson and Kennedy of Austin, Texas and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Kent earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Oceanography from Texas A&M University at Galveston in 2002.  After graduation, Kent accepted a 5 year contract to perform post doctorate oceanic work and research for Lancaster University in Lancaster, England where he often spent many weeks at a time out at sea.  Upon completion of that contract, Kent returned stateside, began a career with Thermo Fisher Scientific and ultimately became a Senior Applications Specialist ICP-MS, LA-ICP-MS.  Kent was an accomplished author of many publications in Analytical Chemistry.  Kent truly enjoyed being a husband, father, son, brother, nephew, cousin and uncle and lived his life for his family. Although Kent left us entirely too early, love for him will remain in our hearts and he will be dearly missed.  May you rest in peace until we meet again! Kent’s life will be celebrated on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 NW Crain Hwy, Bowie, Maryland.
