Iris Idella Cutright

IRIS I. CUTRIGHT October 26, 1929 - October 24th, 2015 Iris I Cutright, of Crofton Maryland, formerly of Akron Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday October 24th, 2015 at home, surrounded by loved ones. Iris was born in West Virginia, daughter of the late William Linger and the late Ruth Linger Wilson. Iris built her career working up to Vice President of United Services Life in the 1970's. Her duties included being personally responsible for the insurance of the Apollo astronauts. After she retired Iris then devoted herself to her church and community dedicating her time and efforts to feed and clothe the homeless and starting a food bank. Her warm Christian spirit, giving heart, and gracious soul were a few of the many reasons for which her friends, family, neighbors and church community loved her. Beloved wife of the late Frank Cutright. Survived by her daughter Carolyn Schmidt, son-in-law John Schmidt, grandchildren Jennifer, Michael, Mark, Katie, her husband Brian, and great granddaughter Lilly. Also surviving are a brother Paul Linger, his daughter Serena of Buckhannon WV, a sister Thelma Johnstone, her husband Roy, and their children in FL. A remembrance service is planned for Saturday October 31st at 11:00 am at the MACC Church in Gambrills, MD. Friends and family are welcome to celebrate Iris's life. A reception will follow.
