Emma passed on Sunday, October 11, 2015. A resident of Crofton, MD, she was survived by her parents Gary and Patricia Warner, a host of loving relatives, friends, and greyhounds. She was granddaughter of the late Franklyn & Louise Warner and Samuel & Dorothy Fitz. Emma grew up in Bowie, MD. She attended Kindergarten through 6th grade at Kenilworth Elementary School (a Blue Ribbon School) in Bowie. Emma attended Queen Anne School in Upper Marlboro, MD (college prep) from 7th grade thru 12th grade. She was an honored member of the class of 2007. Emma accomplished a lot in her short but full life. She was a life time Girl Scout; earned high honors; completed many AP courses and was a member of both the National Honor Society and the Spanish National Society. Emma won numerous awards while attending Queen Anne School including the Herring Founders Award in 2006, the highest Queen Anne School Award. Emma's goals in life were to become a Journalist or someone great in literature, editing or publishing. Emma majored in English Literature and transfer studies for two years. At Anne Arundel Community College she made the Deans List and graduated in 2010 Magna Cum Laude. While going to college, Emma worked as an administrative assistant at Belair Engeneering. Emma loved reading; movies, loved the beach; and loved, loved music. She attend live concerts (Luke Bryan, Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, Band Perry, Jason Aldean, Keith Urban, Florida Georgia Line, Little Big Town, Maroon 5, and more). She especially enjoyed attending family functions and short road trips! Emma also loved the Orioles and Ravens (and sometimes Redskins)! Emma LOVED her Rescued Retired Greyhounds (the "Boys") Jack and Odie (Gus and Peach had passed). The boys had just celebrated their 11th birthday and Emma enjoyed the party we always had for them. We used to foster Greyhounds, but had to stop because we always wanted to adopt them! Emma was a softy like her mom. Emma was constantly volunteering to help others - especially the homeless and greyhounds. Unknown to the family, Emma had a terrible, rare, and incurable disease that was diagnosed in February 2011. Prior to that, Emma had her ups and downs, but this disease, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome Vascular, is what lead to her stroke in January 2011 and her eventual death on October 11, 2015. She was a trooper and tolerated constant pain. The damage from the stroke was something she could not beat. But Emma and her mom said that once this was over, they were going to write a book about the experience in order to help others and steer other sufferers in the right directions. God Bless our Emma.
