Anne Marie Singleton

Anne M. Singleton, 80, beloved wife, mother of six, and teacher, died Tuesday, September 29, 2015 in Annapolis, MD. Anne was a teacher in Flushing, NY before marrying Robert W. Singleton on April 30, 1957 whom had she vowed to marry when she was 11 years old. They spent their first 25 years of marriage in Italy and Germany where all six children were raised. Together they retired in Crofton, MD. Anne was born in Flushing, NY and attended Fordham University, later graduating from the University of Maryland in Munich Germany. She went on to become an English teacher at Munich American High School in Munich, Germany. Anne's husband of 53 years, died in September 2010. She is survived by her five children, their spouses, and seven grandchildren: Russell Singleton and his wife Julie of Flemington, New Jersey; Gregory Singleton of Long Beach, California; Suzanne Brown and her husband, Gary, of Eagle River, Alaska; Nancy Singleton of Crofton, Maryland; Maria Hubbard and her husband, Michael, of Huntingtown, Maryland; and daughter-in-law, Erin Singleton of Crofton, Maryland. The visitation will be held at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rte. 3 South), Bowie, MD on Sunday, October 4 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Chapel (Parish on the Hill), 16501 Annapolis Road, Bowie, MD 20715 at 10 a.m. Monday, October 5. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made in Anne's memory to: Chesapeake Life Center, Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122.
