Mabel E. Ricciardi was released to her peace late in the evening of July 14, 2015. She leaves behind a sister, Nellie Virginia Davidson, a son, William G. Ricciardi, and daughters Valerie Ricciardi and Lisa Ricciardi-Thompson and four grandchildren. Mabel was born in Fancy Hill, Pennsylvania to George and Nora King. She is preceded in death by her sister Frances, brother Walter and brother-in-law Herb Davidson. A quiet, thoughtful soul. She loved to create beautiful things with a needle and thread, create and nourish gardens. She called books friends and she had many. She was especially fond of historical novels and biographies. An abundance of varied meals showcased her love for new menus and ethnic food adventures. We will miss her red sauce on Sundays. She worked a myriad of jobs - record store manager, Universal Studios executive secretary, Finance Officer at Export/Import Bank, and finally gracious greeter at her daughter's tea shop The Little Teapot. She offered her time and talents to to the VFW and Ladies Auxiliary of the West Lanham Hills Fire Department. Two of her favorite volunteering assignments were working with the Blind and Downs Syndrome children. Throughout her life she touched so many with her smile. Even when the day was rainy, she would say "It's liquid sunshine." The family asks that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the Alzhiemers Association.
