Dr. Arnulfo Sison Rosario, 81, of Upper Marlboro, MD passed away due to natural causes on July 9, 2015 at Washington Adventist Hospital. He was born in August of 1933; in the town of Manaoag, in the province of Pangasinan, Philippines to Manuel P. Rosario Sr and Balbina S. Rosario, he was the second of three sons, Manuel S. Rosario Jr. and Agerico S. Rosario. In 1956, he graduated from the University of Santo Tomas, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery in Manila, Philippines. He followed medical school with residences at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia and began specializing as a radiologist at the District of Columbia General Hospital in Washington, DC. In 1962 he married Carol Jean Rosario (nee Young), and they moved to Washington, D.C. He was a clinical assistant professor in radiology at Georgetown University before working at Prince George's Community Hospital. He opened his own private practice specializing in diagnostic radiology in Cheverly, Maryland in 1969. He subsequently opened two more offices in Laurel and Berwyn Heights. For many years he served as radiologist consultant to the various government institutions and facilities including the University of Maryland Health Center, Goddard Space Medical Center and the military bases in Quantico and Patuxent Naval Station. He retired from the practice of medicine in 2005 after nearly 50 years in the medical field. He was awarded the Philippine Medical Association service award for his work as president of the Association in 1976; the Association of Philippine Physicians in America President's Award for hard work and dedication in 2001; America's Top Radiologists 2002-2003; The Association of Philippine Physicians in America Presidential Award for serving as Speaker of the House 2006; Association of Philippine Physicians in America Physician of the Year 2007; and the Philippine Medical Association of Metropolitan Washington DC Inc., Manggagamot Award 2008. A longtime resident of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, he raised four boys, Stefan, Eric, Mark and Brian, each his pride and joy. He took great pride in their successes. He enjoyed family gatherings and listening to the different adventures of his sons. He also enjoyed ballroom dancing, gardening, photography and watching the Redskins. As he grew older, he enjoyed most of all, visits from his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife Eva; his son Eric and his wife Lynda; son Brian and his wife Elizabeth; daughter-in-law Kathy, and his grandchildren; Christian, Braden, Brian, Brandon, Allana and Alexis. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers; his first wife Carol; sons, Stefan and Mark. Services will be held at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 N.W. Crain Highway, Bowie, MD., on 08/01/2015. A reception, to celebrate his life, will follow at the family residence in Upper Marlboro.
