Mrs. Agnes Brown Clark, 83, beloved mother of Richard Clark of Atlanta and Reynold Walbrook of Glenn Dale, Maryland, passed on Saturday, June 27, 2015, in Laurel, Maryland. Services will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Glenarden, 3600 Brightseat Road, Landover, Maryland. Viewing at 10 a.m., services at 11 a.m. Agnes Brown Clark was born on February 3, 1932 in Harlem, New York City, the sixth of 12 children born to Roland Wendell Brown and Eva Jones Brown. She was educated in New York City Public Schools, graduated from Morris High School, Bronx, New York, in 1950, and earned an associate's degree from LaGuardia Community College in Queens. Agnes worked as an operating room technician at Queens General Hospital and later joined the New York City Board of Education. She served as a paraprofessional in city schools for more than 20 years, retiring in 1994. Through her unions with Alexander Clark and Joseph Walbrook, Agnes became the mother of two sons and created for them a home filled with love. With selfless devotion, she cared for her brother, Henry Brown, for many years. After her retirement, she relocated to Atlanta to live near one son, then to suburban Washington, D.C. to live near the other. Agnes was generous and fun-loving, a pillar of strength known for throwing lively barbecues, a sharp jokester who enjoyed music, laughter and above all, dancing. She leaves to cherish her memory sons Richard and Reynold; Six siblings Eric Brown, James Brown, Dolores Brown Black, Margaret Brown Ingram, Francena Brown Ottley and Jackie Evans; ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
