Bernard N. Stockstill

On Saturday, June 27, 2015, Bernard "Bernie" Stockstill of Upper Marlboro, MD passed quietly. He was born in 1931 in Washington, DC and lived in the DC metropolitan area his entire life. He was the beloved husband of the late Mae Ruth Stockstill, father of Mary Ruth Safford (George), and the late Joe, David, and Richard Wright; brother of Richard Stockstill (Mary), three late sisters, and four late brothers; grandfather of five grandchildren; also survived by a host of loving great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years, worked 33 years as a truck driver for Safeway, and was a 50 year member of the American Legion.
