Margaret M. Walls, a 48 year resident of Bowie and member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, died on June 13. Margie was born on June 13, 1934 in Philadelphia PA, to James and Edna Collins. Following graduation from John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls High School in 1952, she joined the Office of the District Attorney in Philadelphia as an Administrative Assistant. On May 26, 1956, Margie married the love of her life, Vince, and together they set out on a 57 year journey grounded in unwavering love and commitment. After 20 years as a homemaker, Margie reentered the workforce in 1976 joining the Bowie Optometric Group as Office Manager. She was active in her Parish including years of service in Sodality, enjoyed playing Mahjong with long time friends and belonged to the local chapter of the Red Hat Society. Most importantly, Margie was a devoted wife and mother who gave selflessly to create a loving and supportive home for her family. Margie was predeceased by her husband Vince in 2013, and is survived by five children and their spouses, Kathleen McGinnis (John), Vincent, Jr. (Christine), Charles (Mary Lee), Kenneth (Jacqueline), Michael (Amy); 16 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to visitation on Tuesday, June 16, at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rte. 3 South), Bowie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Wednesday, June 17, at Sacred Heart Church, 16501 Annapolis Rd., Bowie. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
