Jane Lee Cellar McGrath On May 18, 2015, Jane Lee Cellar McGrath passed peacefully into the hands of God at her home in Gambrills, MD. Jane formerly resided in Bowie, MD. Jane was born on August 29, 1925, in Windsor, Ohio, the oldest child of the late John A. Cellar and Sarah W. Cellar. She spent her youth in Burlington, VT, where she attended the University of Vermont. While living in Burlington, she met her husband of 54 years, Kenneth H. McGrath, who predeceased her in 2000. They were blessed with six children. Jane was an artist, antiques collector, avid reader, and lifetime owner of large personable dogs. A member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, she was a civilian volunteer plane spotter during WWII and owned Smuggler's Notch Antiques in Bowie, MD. Of keen intellect, she would regularly solve Washington Post crossword puzzles in minutes. Friend and confidante to many, she was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bowie, MD. Jane committed herself to church activities and was a member of Sacred Heart's Altar Society, Ladies' Sodality, and hosted bible studies for many years. The one word that describes the life of Jane McGrath is love. Her life was devoted to the Church and the love of helping people, love of her husband, sons, daughters, their spouses, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many, many friends. But most of all, Jane McGrath loved Jesus Christ. She lived her natural life in His Name. Jane was predeceased by her sister Elizabeth Reeb. She is survived by her six children and their spouses, K. Michael McGrath, his wife Elizabeth McGrath, Sarah "Sally" McGrath Johnson , her husband Thomas "Tim" Johnson, and two sets of twins: Timothy P. McGrath, his wife Leilani McGrath, Thomas P. McGrath, his wife Lisa McGrath; James W. McGrath, his wife Deborah McGrath, and Ellen M. McGrath. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
