Margaret Fiedler

August 13, 1955 — April 24, 2015

Margo was born in Kirkcaldy, a seaside town on the east coast of Scotland on August 13, 1955. With her mother, father and older brother, Stan, she immigrated to this country in 1965 after spending 18 months in Ontario Canada awaiting immigration clearance. And so began the life of the woman that the people gathered here today were proud to know and love. A 50-year resident of Prince George's County, Maryland, Margo graduated from Parkdale High School in 1973. It was there that she met and married her high school sweetheart and soul mate, Laurence (Larry) P. Fiedler, Jr. They had two sons, Robert and Brian. And as they saythe rest is history. Not one for living a flashy lifestyle, Margo knew what was important to her, and that was her family. She loved nothing more than having her sons and their families over for dinner. And as her family grew, she remained the nucleus of it, a focus of love and affection that radiated out and touched those of us who were privileged to know her. Margo was a summer resident of Monroe Bay Campground. She loved and lived for those wine tasting trips with her Winette friends: Faye, Anna, Gail, Margie, Melissa, Heather and Nancy. Margo was a vibrant spirit, a strong-willed independent woman, a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister-in-law and friend. In 2000, after a debilitating dialysis stint, Margo received the gift of a kidney transplant. Although she was not able to work afterwards, it was a life gift that carried her through the next 15 years. Those additional 15 years afforded Margo the opportunity to watch her two sons, Robert and Brian, get married and have children of their own. Margo's grandchildren were the love of her life: Jake, age 8 and Kyle, age 6 (Robert and Michelle); and Sydney, age 3 and Riley, age 19 months (Brian and Deanna). Complications from the end-of-life transplanted kidney ended Margo's life on the afternoon of Friday, April 24th at approximately 2:45pm. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
