Brian Carlin Andrews of Bowie, MD passed away April 2, 2015 at the Charlestown Retirement Community in Catonsville, MD. A long-time resident of Bowie, Brian was born February 19, 1943 in Pittsburgh, PA, where he also spent his youth. After graduating from Avonworth High School in 1961, he attended college, eventually earning a Bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland, College Park. After serving two years in the Army, Brian began his professional journey at NASA's Goddard Space Flight center in Greenbelt, MD. After four years, he transitioned to the Federal Aviation Administration, where he served the remainder of his career, culminating with his retirement after 34 years of dedicated service. Brian was devoted to his family and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with loved ones. He was generous in spirit and valued casual conversation with strangers and acquaintances alike. He was a devoted fan of all the Washington and Baltimore sports teams and was an avid golfer, forever trying to straighten out his slice. Brian is survived by his sons, Keenan Andrews and his wife, Vanessa Andrews of Silver Spring, MD and Kevin Andrews of Annapolis, MD; his sister, Mary Wall of Iowa City, IA; his brother, Jeffrey Andrews of Pittsburgh, PA; and his former spouse, Virginia Andrews of Crofton, MD. Family and close friends will celebrate Brian's life at a private gathering on April 25, 2015.
