John Anthony Palmieri

May 10, 1947 — February 15, 2015

John Anthony Palmieri John was born May 10, 1947 in Atlantic City NJ, and affectionately known as "Jack". He was predeceased by his father and mother, John and Ethel Palmieri, and his brother Robert Palmieri. A long-time resident of Crofton, MD and active participant in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton church as a eucharistic minister, Jack passed to heaven on February 15, 2015, due to complications from congestive heart failure. He graduated from Archbishop Carroll High School and earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland in College Park. On December 27, 1969, he married Barbara Ann (Brown). Jack was a dedicated federal employee for over thirty years as a contract specialist and procurement analyst at NASA, National Cancer Institute, National Institute of Health, Department of Agriculture - Animal Plant Health Inspection Service, and the Department of Treasury. He also provided his contract expertise and knowledge to the private sector with IITRI, and worked as a private contractor on federal projects post-retirement. Jack leaves behind his wife and his beloved children Dave (wife Nicole), Diane Hardesty (husband Samuel Jr.) and Elizabeth Palmieri (fiancee Lou Schwarz). Jack will be missed by his friends at church Sue Lowell, Sharon Shipley, Jeanne Cox, Jack O'Mallley, Fred Seibold and many others. Terry and Ellen Mailler and Robert and Rosemary Herbert were friends since college. Jack was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles and Maryland Terps. He had a great love for music and cinema. Jack gave his life to his family, public service, and the Catholic church. Special thanks to Hospice of the Chesapeake and Autumn Meadows for their compassionate care.
