Frances T. Siemer, died peacefully on Saturday, Dec, 6, 2014, from a very short struggle with pancreatic cancer. Frances was under the wonderful care of at home hospice of the Chesapeake and Heritage Harbour Health Group, Annapolis. She was born on November 23, 1920, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to the late Rudolph and Frances Klepac Tajchman. Her father Rudolph Tajchman, was one of many immigrants, who moved from Czechoslovakia to Corpus Christi, to grow cotton and other crops. She was one of nine children and grew up on her family's farm located near Corpus Christi Naval Air Base. She married one of the Marine Corps aviation cadets from this base, Donald Frank Bolinski, on Feb 15, 1944. They moved to Huntington Beach, California, and later to Costa Mesa, to raise their four children. In addition to managing a household and raising her children while Don was off to war, she was an active member of Saint Joachim Catholic Church, Costa Mesa, CA, and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She became a single Mom of her four children after Don lost his life in an aviation accident in Santa Barbara, CA, on June 3, 1953. She married Marine Corps Master Sargent, James Eugene Siemer of Baltimore, MD, while he was stationed at El Toro, CA, on Nov 9, 1957. Their son James Frederick Siemer, was born on Nov 16, 1960. The family of seven moved to Glen Burnie, MD, and later settled in Bowie. After Jim's retirement from the Department of Defense, Jim and Frances went on many expeditions to Alaska, Mexico, England, Spain, and Czechoslovakia. Two years after her 2nd husband, Jim, died on Dec 25, 1992, Frances moved to Heritage Harbour, Annapolis. She was a 20 year resident of Heritage Harbour, a member of the Women of the Moose, Glen Burnie MD Chapter 1176, and Saint Mary's Parish, Gloucester St., Annapolis, MD. Frances was an avid duplicate bridge player, a member of District 6, MD unit, of the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL), and proudly became a Silver Life Master on Dec 1, 1986. She was a life-long member of the K.J.Z.T., Katolicka Jednota Zen Texaskych, a Catholic organization for Czech women, very proud of her Czech heritage, and spoke Czech fluently. She loved to share memories of her life on the family farm in Corpus Christi, and visited her sisters, brothers, and their families in Texas, every two years. In addition to her first husband Don, who died in 1953, and her second husband, Jim who died in 1992, Frances was predeceased by her sons, James Frederick Siemer and Gregory Alan Bolinski, who died in separate accidents in 1975; her three sisters: Otilie, Louise, Mary; her five brothers: Rudolph, Joseph, Emerick, Alphonse, John; her sisters' spouses: Edward, Joe, Frank; and, her brothers' spouses: Louise, Angeline, Lillian. She is survived by her children, Donna Opilla and her husband; Dennis Bolinski; Karen Lusk; her beloved nieces, nephews, and Klepac cousins in Texas; and wonderful sister-in-law, Shirley Siemer. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Donald Kirk, Lauren Noel, and Anjela Marie. Friends are invited to the Memorial Gathering to celebrate the life of Frances on Monday, December 15 from 2:00 to 3:00pm at the Beall Funeral Home, 6512 Crain Hwy, Bowie, MD, with a Memorial Service at 3:00pm. Interment to occur at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
