Jeffery M. Sylvester Sr.

On November 19, 2014, Jeffery Mark Sylvester, Sr., a resident of Millersville for 26 years, passed away at the age of 55. Devoted husband of 37 years to Christine E. Sylvester; Loving father of Jeff Jr. (Elaine) Sylvester of Crofton, Jill (Justin) Sylvester of Ferndale, and Adam Sylvester of Millersville; Loving son of Helen Sylvester of South Bend, Indiana and William Sylvester of Goshen, Indiana; Loving brother of Bryan Sylvester of Lancaster, Pennsylvania and Jeanette Sweigart of Hilliard, Ohio; Doting grandfather to William and Destiny Defibaugh, Dillon Sylvester and Justin Benedict, II. Jeff was predeceased by a son, Jeremy. Born in South Bend, Indiana, Jeff enlisted in the Army just before graduating from Jimtown High School in June of 1977. He proudly served his country in the Army for 9 years, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant before being honorably discharged. After leaving the Army, Jeff served in the Army Reserve for two years. In 1986, he joined the National Security Agency where he worked as an analyst for 28 years and received many accolades and recognition awards for his work. Jeff earned his Associates degree in Business Management from the University of Maryland in 1987 and his Bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies from Washington Bible College in 2006. Family will receive friends at the family-owned BEALL FUNERAL HOME, 6512 NW Crain Hwy., (Rte. 3 South), Bowie, MD on Monday, November 24, 2014 from 6 to 8pm and on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 from 10 to 11:30am, with a funeral service at 11:30am. Interment private.
