Robert Conroy

Robert Conroy, age 71 of Glenn Dale, MD died on November 10, 2014 at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Robert grew up in Gortletteragh Mohill, Leitrim, Ireland. He immigrated to New York in 1959. After finishing his education, he joined the U.S. Navy where he met and married Ruth Griffin and they settled in Maryland. He was a well-respected purchasing manager in the fence and deck manufacturing business. His passions were home improvement projects and tending to his yard and garden. He loved spending time with his large family. He enjoyed bowling and was a very dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of Ascension Catholic Church. He travelled to New York frequently to visit with his siblings. He was always singing or whistling and would greet you with a big smile. Robert is survived by the mother of his children, Ruth Dutrow, his children, Mary L. Conroy, Terrie L. Conroy, Robert M. Conroy (Karen) and Kevin D. Conroy, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made in Robert's name to the American Cancer Society.
