DUVALL David Downing Duvall, Sr., 77, of Croom, MD died peacefully October 19, 2014. David was born October 4, 1937, in Washington, D.C., to the late Anona "Tootie" Downing Duvall and Joseph Bourne Duvall. In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his brother, Joseph B. Duvall. A graduate of Frederick Sasscer High School and the University of Maryland, David spent his career with the Prince George's County Board of Education as teacher, Vice Principal and Personnel Officer. David loved his family, world traveling, sailing, art, music, and local and state history. For many years he dedicated himself to his family's heritage as President of the Society of Mareen Duvall Descendants. He was a member of St. Thomas' Episcopal Parish, Croom, the Maryland Historical Society, the Prince George's County Historical Society, the Upper Marlboro Lions Club and the Southern Maryland Society. David is survived by his wife of 36 years, Brenda Brady Duvall, and his children Priscilla West Duvall (Susan Frye), David Downing Duvall, Jr., and Elizabeth Lyles Duvall. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Catherine Lyles Duvall. Family will receive friends at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 N.W. Crain Highway, Bowie, MD on Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A Memorial Service to celebrate David's life will be held Friday, October 24, 2014 at St. Thomas' Episcopal Church, 14300 St. Thomas Church Road, Upper Marlboro, MD.
