Mary Elizabeth Sharpe

Mary Elizabeth Sharpe 1929 - 2014 Mary Elizabeth Sharpe was born January 6, 1929 in Appalachia, Virginia. During the next eighty-five years she made her home in Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Maryland. On October 8, 2014 she transitioned to her eternal home in Heaven. Left to mourn her physical separation are Charles K. Sharpe, her husband of sixty-eight years, her four children, Brenda Jenkins of Bowie, Maryland and her husband Dick, Mary Susan Stennett of Odenton, Maryland and her husband David, Dr. Charles Richard Sharpe and his wife Dauna of Athens, Tennessee, and Mark Sharpe of Atoka, Tennessee and his wife Lydia. Other hearts that are filled with sadness and sorrow are eight grandchildren - Elizabeth Jenkins Grove and her husband Daniel of Bowie, Maryland, Maryann Jenkins of Bowie, Maryland, Rebecca Stennett Reynolds and her husband Erik of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Amy Stennett Smith and her husband Wes of Nashville, Tennesee, Andrew Sharpe and his wife Amanda of Knoxville, Tennesee, Allison Sharpe of Athens, Tennessee, Anne Marie and John Mark Sharpe of Atoka, Tennessee. Precious to her were Kate and Jack Reynolds, and Charlie Grove, her three great grandchildren. Countless numbers of friends and family will miss the grace and charm of this special woman. She had a positive Christian influence on hundreds of children and adults as she was the loving and faithful pastor's wife for more than fifty years. She taught kindergarten for twenty-six years at the Live and Learn Child Development Center where she helped mold and shape the lives of hundreds of children. Her greatest accomplishment, however, was the raising of her four children, all of whom are believers and dedicated servants of Christ. She is now resting from her labors and has heard "well done thou good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of the Lord". Family will receive friends at the family-owned BEALL FUNERAL HOME, 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rte. 3 South), Bowie, MD on Sunday, October 12, 2014 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. A Funeral Service will be held at 1st Baptist Church of Crofton, 1690 Crofton Pkwy., Crofton, MD on Monday, October 13, 2014 at 10am. Interment, Lakemont Memorial Gardens, Davidsonville, MD.
