Richard A. Ager

April 7, 1926 — September 16, 2014

1926 - 2014 Richard Augustus Ager passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 after leading a full, long, blessed, hardworking, honest, Christian life. Richard was a WWII Naval Veteran, Capitol Heights MD, Volunteer Fireman, President and Secretary of the US Naval Destroyer Escort Group (DESA), VFW Commander and Chaplain, Barbershop Quartet Singer (AIRS) and a performer and singer for PG County Public Playhouse and Glee Club. He leaves behind a large legacy of family, friends and associates. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 yrs. Angelina Ager; his children and their spouse`s Catherine and Tom Herbert, Linda and Pete Sofolarides, Richard P. and Susan Ager, Mark A. Ager, and was preceded by his son the late James E. Ager. Richard is also survived by his sister Margaret (Maggy) Smith, twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, as well as many nephews, nieces and other family members. Family will receive friends on Saturday, September 20, 2014 from 2PM to 5PM at the family-owned BEALL FUNERAL HOME, 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rte. 3 South), Bowie, MD, where Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at 1PM.
