Peter E. Anderson was born October 2, 1960 in Buffalo, NY, to Jack and Betty Anderson of Bowie, MD. He was the second-youngest of five siblings: older brothers John and Art Anderson, younger brother Matt Anderson, and older sister Mary Beth Flowers. He was a father of two: Jeremy and Cassandra Anderson. Pete was married for ten years to Rhonda Anderson, who passed away in December, 2013. Pete shared a loving relationship for nine years with Patty Rossman, who has been devoted to Pete throughout his illness and beyond. Pete passed away on August 14, 2014 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD after battling bladder cancer for three and a half years. At a young age Pete moved to Bowie, MD, and from then on considered Maryland to be his true home. Pete was fond of the outdoors, particularly Maryland's Eastern Shore and the Chesapeake Bay. All throughout his life Pete treasured the wildlife and natural landscapes of Maryland, enjoying boating, fishing, camping, and riding his motorcycle. In 2006, Pete purchased a property in Woolford, MD that he and Patty eventually transformed into a paradise tucked away in the heart of the Chesapeake. This cabin in the woods was Pete's dream home, and he often escaped there to unwind and find peace in nature after his hectic weeks on the other side of the Bay. Despite his adoration for nature, Pete's other passion was technology. From very early on in life, Pete was very curious about how things worked. That curiosity and thirst for knowledge kept him busy, as he dabbled in auto and boat mechanics, carpentry, architecture, computers, and telephony. Pete's career migrated from numerous fields all connected to technology, until he finally settled into telecommunications. His final and longest running career path was with Prudential Carruthers Realtors, which later became Prudential PenFed Realty. Pete is survived by his children, Jeremy and Cassandra Anderson; his longtime partner, Patty Rossman; his parents, Jack and Betty Anderson; his brothers, John, Art, and Matt Anderson; and his sister, Mary Beth Flowers. Services will be held Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Beall Funeral Home in Bowie, MD from 2-4PM, with a reception to follow immediately after. Interment will be private, and will occur at a later date.
