Frank E Sheaffer

Frank E Sheaffer, 85, of Crofton MD and formerly of Shippensburg PA died Monday, August 4, 2014. Born September 3, 1928 in Shippensburg PA, he was the son of the late Melvin and Ella Mae Eckenrode Sheaffer. Frank was preceded in death by his beloved wife Linda in 2003 and who he missed every day. Frank leaves behind his children, Frank Jr of Chambersburg PA, Pamela (Mrs. Robert Moran) of Crofton; and Richard (husband of Kathy) of Manning, SC.; seven grandchildren Frank III (husband of Tracy), Matthew, Kerstin, Rebecca, Emily, Julie and Grace and two great-grandchildren Kaelyn and Gabe, 2 brothers Lloyd (husband of Janet) and Ronald (husband of Sheila), 2 sisters Pauline and Linde. Preceded in death by 3 brothers John, Melvin and Harry. He proudly served in the United States Army and retired April 1, 1970 after serving more 23 years. He was seriously wounded in action in 1951 and again in 1953 during the Korean War. He received the Silver Star with oak leaf cluster, Bronze Star with v device and oak leaf cluster as well as Purple Hearts for his heroism and valor during combat. He also completed 2 tours in Vietnam. He will be laid to rest at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
