Patrick was born in the Washington D.C. area on February 1, 1959. He was raised in Bowie, Maryland by his parents, Mary and George Carrette. He graduated from Laurel High School, where he was able to enjoy learning about his love of taking care of cars. He went on to many adventurous careers throughout Maryland. As a youth, Pat was very active in Boy Scouts, sports, and 4-H, where he was fondly referred to as "Elmer." He loved to make others smile and took pride in being a protector of others, proudly taking after his father, George, in the security role. Pat worked on a farm in old Bowie and from there went on to begin his long career protecting others. He worked in security guard positions both at Landover mall and campus police at Prince George's community college. While at Landover mall, he was commended for saving the life of his partner, Ray, during a shootout. Patrick went on to work as a Deputy Sherriff with the Prince George's County Sherriff office. More recently, Patrick was an active volunteer with Caroline County YMCA, where he served as a youth mentor, providing a very valuable service to the youth of his community. Of course, throughout his life, Patrick continued his love of cars, enjoying the cars as well as the companionship of others at the car shows. He also stayed active with his hobby of collecting old things, writing his own version of "Antique Road Show" and "Storage Wars." Patrick is survived by his 4 siblings, as well as a large extension of family and friends; George Carrette and wife Dawna, of Massachusetts, and children, Madeline, Vivienne, and George, Jr; Therese Minogue and husband, Frank of Colorado, and children, Sean and Shannon; Cathy Woods and Dave Woods of Maryland, and children, Charlie, Rachel and granddaughter, Marley.
