My mother (Frances Louise Wetherbee) was born to Marguerite and Paul Bonavries on Sept 25, 1917 in NW Washington DC. She was the middle child with an older sister Pauline and a younger brother Paul. She married in 1939 and had a baby girl Lynda Jean Green in 1940. After their divorce my mother worked in Washington, D.C. in the U.S. Patent field where she met my wonderful father Henry Wetherbee. They were married in 1946 and lived in Cottage City until 1978 when they moved to Bowie, MD. Their marriage lasted 37 years until his death in 1983. In 1968 my parents purchased a cottage next to dear friends in the community of Tall Timbers, MD. This led to continuous weekends of entertaining and companionship in the waterfront neighborhood. Many many years of laughter and fun were spent there. An introduction to golf at East Potomac Golf Course began my mother's passion for the sport. She competed in and won multiple tournaments. She also met many endearing women who were equally passionate about golf and developed long term relationships which lasted through the years. Her golfing took her to Glenn Dale Golf Course in Glenn Dale, MD. where she played weekly, even daily, until she was in her mid 80's. She passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at the great age of 96. She was the most beloved wife of the late F. Henry Wetherbee; loving mother of Margie Kreitzer and her husband, Louis, and the late Lynda Jean Rose; dear grandmother of Jennifer L. Kreitzer, M. Travis Kreitzer, and John Rose; also survived by 2 great-grandchildren.
