Marie Threase Larsen, 78, of Bowie, Maryland, went to heaven May 13, 2014, from complications of pneumonia. "Mary" Larsen was born to the late John and Elizabeth Fitzpatrick, January 26, 1936, in Wicklow, Ireland. She was married to Jorgen "John" Larsen for 47 years. She is survived by her husband John, and five children, Rena, Linda, Stephanie, Erik and Kurt; her grandchildren, Niels, Amanda, Tim, Jorgen, Kirsten, Emma, Kaelyn and Kyle; one great-grandchild, Ava. She is also survived by sister's Nora, Eily and Madeleine; brother's Jack and Michael; numerous nieces and nephews; and other family and friends. Mary is preceded in death by her sister Kathleen, and brother's Dick and Joe. Throughout her life one of her greatest passions was gardening. She looked forward to spring and the blooming of her garden each year. Our mother's greatest wish was that science could learn from her many illnesses and she has donated her body to The Anatomy Board of Maryland. Her family will grant her other wish to have her remains returned to her beloved Ireland when the research is complete. Mary will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her family will receive visitors on May 31st at Beall Funeral Home in Bowie, Maryland, from 3:00 - 5:00 pm. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Mandrin Inpatient Care Center in Harwood, Maryland for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in her memory to the Hospice of the Chesapeake (Mandrin Inpatient Care Center), 3675 Solomons Island Road, Harwood, Maryland 20776. Author unknown The death of a mother is the first sorrow wept without her. When we lose someone we love it seems that time stands still. What moves through us is a silence... a quiet sadness... a longing for one more day... one more word... one more touch. We may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget. We will see you again someday, in a heavenly place where there is no parting. A place where there are no words that mean good-bye.
