John C Wells

John C. Wells died at home in Selbyville, DE on Saturday, May 10, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Janet; niece, Sharon Worth; and sister-in-law, Shirley Wells. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Doris Wells; and brother, James C. Wells. John was a veteran of the Korean War. He was past Chief of Bladensburg Fire Department and a Past Master of Hiram Takoma no. 10. He was also active in the Greenbelt American Legion Post 136, Bowie Elks Lodge 2309, and the VFW in Oceanview, DE. John was a wonderful husband and friend, who will be missed by all who knew him. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 from 6 to 9pm at the family-owned BEALL FUNERAL HOME, 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rte. 3 South), Bowie, MD, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 11am. Interment, Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, MD. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Historic Congressional Cemetery, 1801 E Street S.E., Washington, DC 20003 or to the SPCA of Anne Arundel County, P.O. Box 3471, Annapolis, MD 21403.
