Carl N Cord, Sr.

Carl "Nick" Cord, of Gambrills, Maryland, passed away in his home on Sunday April 27, 2014. He was born on March 18, 1939, son of the late Arnett and Louise (Gerhardt) Cord Litko. He was a graduate of Bladensburg High School, in Bladensburg, Maryland. Nick married Sylvia Simms in 1962. They had four children and shared many happy years together. Through the years, they spent many weekends supporting their children's sports events and activities. Nick was an avid Washington Redskins, Washington Nationals and Maryland Terrapins fan. He was a long time parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, in Crofton Maryland. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time around the family dining table with cherished family members and friends. As a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his step father Frank Litko, brother Jack Cord, sisters Regina O'Brien and Eleanor Coene and children Colleen Malone (Mike), Lisa Bozzonetti (Steven), Carl Cord (Alice) and Karen Houting (Dan). He was also the proud grandfather of Marc and Michael Malone, Jon and Jessica Bozzonetti, Caitlin and Ella Houting and Joslyn Cord.
