Dorothy (Dot) Hardesty Mayr, 93, a native and lifelong resident of Davidsonville, passed away peacefully on March 17th. She was born May 29, 1920 on a local farm outside of Annapolis. Dot had a true passion for her family, gardening, soft crabbing and cooking. She worked at the original Hecht Company on West Street for over 25 years. She loved helping people and missed it when she retired. One of her greatest pleasures was being surrounded by her family and cooking big Sunday dinners, which consisted of her famous potato salad and homegrown vegetables. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph A. Mayr, her son Thomas W. Mayr and two grandsons. She is survived by her daughter Jean Wilson of Davidsonville, MD, her son in law George Wilson, daughter in law Gretchen Mayr, Brother Kenneth Hardesty, 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1800 Seton Dr., Crofton on Tuesday March 25th at 11:00 am. Burial will be private. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
