Henry Poy Wong of Bowie, Maryland died on Friday, February 7, 2014 peacefully at his home. Friends know him as Hank. He was 89 and lived a full life. He was born on April 4, 1924 in San Francisco, California. He returned to China when he was 3 and returned to America at the age of 13. He adored his brothers James and Lincoln Wong. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, and achieved his 2nd Masters from University of Minnesota which launched his career with NASA. In 1951, he married Constance Leong, and together they had 2 children, Sheri and Markham. He enjoyed 3 grandchildren-Eva, Lucas and Kalen. Hank was a World War II Veteran in the Army. He worked as a Chief Engineer at Vandenburg Air Force Base, as well as consulting to Executives at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center from Apollo up through Landsat 7 and the Earth Observing System Program. A philanthropist, he was active in the Chinese Community Church, member of the FF Fraternity, Chinese Couples Club, and ECCFC. He was a friend and mentor to many and always finished a conversation with "Keep Smiling". He will be greatly missed!
