William E. White Proverbs 17:6 Children's children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children. On Feb. 1, 2014, William E. White went home to be with the Lord. He lived a life filled with love, faith, and family. A WWII Veteran who retired from the Naval Observatory after 38 years of federal government service, he shared the gift of his captivating personality that would light up any room and his coined clichés that will forever be engraved in our hearts. He was an advocate sports fan and loved to watch Westerns. He shared a special bond with his family, but the grandchildren always held a special place in his heart. Affectionately known as Pa White, Poppy, Big William, Uncle William and Mr. W.W. He is survived by his wife, Betty, 14 children, 54 grandchildren; and 47 great-grandchildren and a whole host of other relatives and friends. William is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Katie, sons William and Warren; brothers Joseph and Norman; and his beloved sister Anne Mae.
