Mary Ann Craig

Mary Ann Craig was born to Andrew Merosky & Anna Hitz Merosky on January 11, 1923. She was born in Pittsburgh Pa. but moved to New York City at the age of 12 and grew up there. She moved to Washington D.C. during WWII to work for the Navy department. She met and married Frank H. Craig and remained married for 65 years until his death in November 2008. They had four children. Pat(Barbara), Mike(Linda), Steve, and Mary Catherine(Dan). She lived and worked in Bowie, Maryland since 1961 and was one of the original residents. She was active with St. Pius X Sodality and Senior Citizen groups in Bowie. Her great love was travel and she was able to enjoy much of Europe and the Middle East as well as most of the Continental United States and Alaska. She and Frank also took cruises to the Caribbean and Panama Canal. She had a great thirst for knowledge and enjoyed reading the Washington Post daily as well as watching TV programs on space, foreign countries and cultures.Mary took several courses at Prince Georges Community College over her 91 years just to expand her understanding of the world around her. She enjoyed music of all varieties and loved to dance, especially when she could do a polka with her mother. Mary loved to swim and for years was at the top of the leader board at BSR for miles swam for the season. She was a proud grandmother of Christopher (Sheri)Craig, Deirdre(Mike)Kincaid, Bill(Sheri)Craig, Drew Craig, Bonnie(Mike)Hernandez,Scott Craig,Barbara Craig, Erin Griggs,and Mark Craig,Step Grandma to Greg (Grace) Grigg, Teresa Maslanik, Robbie Lattin, Melissa Gatton, great-grandmother to Ronnie, Tyler, Kendall, Madison, Monique, Alex, Ryan, River,Samantha, Jessica, Jaclyn, Kyle, Emily, Alex, Emma, Candice, Bridgett, Andrew, Raymond and great-great-grandmother to Mikah and Colette.She also had many beloved nieces. She also leaves behind one Sister in law, Delene Smith of Ripley TN.
