Mary Ellen Valentino

Mary Ellen Valentino, 86, of Bowie, died peacefully January 1 with her family by her side at Rutherford Manor in Davidsonville. Mary was born Mary Ellen Loughlin on October 4, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York. She married Francis A. Valentino and they settled in Bowie, Maryland in 1965. Before marrying, Mary worked for Todd Shipyards in Brooklyn, New York. In Bowie, she worked part-time as an administrative assistant to a group of medical professionals. She subsequently worked as an administrative assistant in the Nursing Department of Catholic University of America. She was preceded in death by her husband, and all of her brothers and sisters. Mary is survived by her three daughters, Geraldine Valentino-Smith, Ellen Valentino Benitez, and Mary Frances O'Keeffe; sons-in-law, Phillip Smith, Robert Benitez, and Kevin O'Keeffe; five grandchildren, Ryan Benitez, MaryKate Benitez, Luke Smith, Maggie Smith and Collin Smith.
