On Wednesday, December 4, 2013, Helen Patricia "Pat" Riley Trumbull, 87, died peacefully in her sleep at her daughter's home in Crofton, Maryland. She relished being a teacher and taught at Friends School in Baltimore City and St. Paul's School in Brooklandville, Maryland. After her teaching career, Pat retired to Cape May, New Jersey where she enjoyed the beach, following current events, riding her bike, and spoiling her Airedale Terriers. Her parents were Katherine and Edouard Riley and the family lived in Pasadena, California. Pat attended Goucher College and was a proud Delta Gamma sorority sister. After graduating from Goucher, Pat worked at Johns Hopkins University where she met her future husband, William "Bill" Trumbull. They married, lived in the Baltimore area, and raised their children, Katharine "Kathy" Anne Trumbull Goeller Shahinian and William Edouard "Ed" Trumbull. Pat is survived by Kathy and her husband George; Ed and his wife Deborah; grandson Andrew Goeller (wife Cassie), step-grandchildren Christopher Lucas (wife Ashley), Andrew Lucas (wife Chrissie), and Tara Lucas; and great-granddaughters Molly Catherine and Carolyn Riley Goeller. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Pat's life at a memorial service at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 13, 2013 at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 1110 St. Stephens Church Road, Crownsville, Maryland, 21032.
