Sarah Elizabeth Mooney

Sarah Elizabeth Mooney, 83, of Mount Jackson, VA and formerly of Bowie, MD, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 19, 2013. Mrs. Mooney was born on February 6, 1930 in Washington, D.C., daughter of the late Frank Paul and Nellie Estelle (nee Robinson) Jones. She was a graduate of McKinley Tech High School in Washington, D.C. and St. Mary's College of Maryland. Mrs. Mooney retired after 18 ½ years with C. and P. Telephone Company in Washington, D.C. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Thomas Mooney, and a son, Steven Meredith Kirk, and is survived by her daughter, Lynell Nelson of Germantown, MD; her son, John Kirk of Mount Jackson, VA; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many cousins. Family will receive friends at the family-owned BEALL FUNERAL HOME, 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rte. 3 South), Bowie, MD on Saturday, November 23, 2013 from 6 to 8pm. A Graveside Service will be held at Solomons United Methodist Church, 14454 Solomons Island Road S., Solomons, MD on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at 2pm.
