Steven King Arnett, 70, of Gambrills, died October 31 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Steven was born to the late Henry Dilgardt Arnett and Norma Luceil Arnett, November 12, 1942 in Urbana, Illinois, and was raised in Washington, D.C. He graduated with a BS in Meteorology from The Pennsylvania State University in 1964. He served in the United States Air Force from 1964-1976, achieving a final rank of Captain. Some of his service was overseas during the Vietnam War era. While stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas, he met Patricia R. Zeak, and they were married in 1970. After completing his service to our country he went to work as a Meteorologist for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and retired in 2000 after over 23 years. Steven was the Secretary of the Maryland Volkssport Association and President of his condo association. He enjoyed spending time with his family, walking, traveling, reading, fishing, sports, and computers. Survivors include his wife Patricia; two sons, Brian and his wife Melissa of Pittsburgh, PA and David of Nottingham; daughter, Susan and her husband Michael Antezana of Brunswick; two grandchildren, Nicholas and William; as well as many other relatives and friends. There will be a memorial gathering from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, November 7, at Beall Funeral Home in Bowie. A brief military ceremony will be held 10:45 a.m., Friday, November 8, at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville. Following the ceremony, a gathering of friends and family will be held at 12 Noon in the Village at Waugh Chapel Condo, building 2604 community room.
