William Michael Torillo, III affectionately known as Billy, was born February 24, 1948 to the late William, Jr. and Eleanor Torillo, he was the eldest of three children from this union. On Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at The Washington, DC VA Community Hospice Billy passed away peacefully in his sleep with his brother Tommy by his side. Billy grew up in Brentwood, MD, spending a short period in the PG County School System. During his early teens through his adult life Billy lived his way, colorfully, and at times on the edge. In 1965 at age 17 following in his family's footsteps, Billy enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served as a "Boiler Man" on two different Navy Vessels during his service. After being honorably discharged in 1968, Billy picked back up with his free, devil may care life "spending time" in several different counties around Maryland, if you knew him you will know what that means. Billy was a Journeyman Plumber and a talented roofer. In the last decade or so of his life Billy worked odd jobs for folks around his hometown of Brentwood, often assisted by his friend and nephew, Richard Bridges. Billy was a carefree soul and once he'd decided he was no longer a young chicken, began living a slower life, again only because he wanted to. Billy loved and appreciated his family, he had a great relationship with his younger brother Tommy which grew more so over the last five years. Billy also shared a special bond with his nieces, Toni and Marie as well as their children. Billy may not have been at every birthday or Christmas but he always made sure that his great nieces and nephews had a gift or $20 from their Uncle Billy. During Billy's last month's his nieces, Toni and Marie took the reins of his healthcare as well as his day-to-day business. In his very last days up to his passing, his brother Tommy sat at The VA with Billy never leaving his side. Billy leaves to cherish his memories: one brother, Tommy Torillo, Sr., one sister, Terry Murphy; one sister-in-law, Melonie Torillo; two nieces, Toni Flanary and Marie Torillo; two nephews, TJ Torillo and his wife Sue, and Richard Bridges; three great nieces, Samantha, Brook, and Hannah; two great nephews, Dominic and Kaleb; two special cousins, Marianne Ring and Chris Underwood; one half brother, one half sister, and a host of other cousins, relatives, and friends.
