Arthur Edward Ed' Montague, 96, passed away surrounded by his family on August 16th, 2013 at his home in Bowie, Maryland. Ed was born on August 10, 1917 in Havre, Montana, the eldest child of the late Arthur Edward Montague, Sr. and Ruth Emelia Johnson. He graduated from De La Salle High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1935. Ed later joined the Army in 1941 and served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. After fighting in New Guinea and the Philippines, he earned a Bronze Star. On July 20, 1946, he wed Alice Lorraine Mahoney and they were married for 50 years. He was employed by the Federal Government for 30 years. Some of his hobbies included gardening and playing bridge until he was 90 years old. Mr. Montague was also a 48-year member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bowie, where he served as an usher. He was predeceased by his beloved wife in 1996, and also by his parents and 6 younger siblings. He leaves many loving memories to be cherished by his 5 children, Katherine Montague, Michael Montague (Mary Anne), and Michele Seeba (John) of Bowie, Maryland, Teresa Bibbs (Larry) of Spotsylvania, Virginia, Dennis Montague (Shelly) of Winter Garden, Florida, 11 Grandchildren and 13 Great-Grandchildren.
