Sandra L.(O'Neill) Stewart of Bowie, MD died August 3 at the age of 65 at Doctor's Hospital. She grew up in Belmeade and was a 1965 graduate of DuVal High School. Sandy worked as a homemaker all the years her children were growing up, and then worked as a typist and proofreader for the Bowie Blade News for more than 10 years. She volunteered as a competition tabulator for the Belle-Aires Twirling Corps and for the Maryland Baton Council for many years, where her daughters and granddaughters twirled baton. Survivors include a son, Richard Stewart II of Prince Frederick; three daughters, Teresa Stewart Althoff of Bowie, Shannon Duley of Shady Side, and Mandy Pometto of Bowie; one brother, Casey O'Neill of Alexandria, VA., twelve grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren .
