Thomas M. Fowler, II

October 5, 1951 — July 30, 2013

Tom Fowler of Gambrills, MD passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on July 30th at the age of 61, with his wife and daughter at his side. Tom is survived by his wife Linda; his daughters Louise Phillips (Ken), Beth Hunter, and Kim Gibson; sisters Kathie Mosimann (Mike), Debbie Kotowicz (Don), Mary Beth Clark (Mel) ; brothers Jeff (Lou Anne), Dave, Steve, and Danny; his parents Ray and Ann, grandchildren Thomas and Aaron Phillips, and an extended family of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. One of eight children, Tom was born on October 5, 1951 at the old Sibley Hospital in Northeast DC. He grew up in Landover Hills, MD and graduated from Bladensburg High School where he played trumpet and french horn for the band. After high school, he went to work for the C&P phone company and remained in the telephone industry his entire career. Over his eventful life, Tom was an avid reader who had a variety of interests. In his youth he was a Boy Scout, enjoyed hiking and backpacking, building detailed models, bowling, and sports. As a member of Landover Baptist Church he was a devoted trustee, drove a church bus and played on the basketball and volleyball teams. He was an accomplished crossword player who completed advanced puzzles - in ink - within an hour or two. Until his sudden passing he was healthy and strong as an ox. Although his life was short he had many accomplishments and was loved by all. We will miss you Big Guy - rest in peace.
