"Mo" Caruso Emerson passed in peace on July 24, 2013 at the age of 58 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by loved ones; her sons, John Caruso (30) and Jimmy Caruso (27), family, friends, her ex-husband, John Caruso, and cherished friend, Kathy Fearnow. Born Moira Mary Cycyk in 1955, Mo traveled widely with her mother, Mildred and father, Maurice, a professional violinist in the "Big Band Circuit" before settling in New Carrollton, Maryland. Mo graduated Parkdale High School in 1973 and continued her education at the University of Maryland. Mo started her career as a Dental assistant in Greenbelt, then worked as an Office Manager for Dr. Boetcher in Bowie. But Mo found her dream job as a sales coordinator 5 years ago with PBI, Inc in Annapolis. Mo was a beautiful, warm, compassionate and giving person. She adored her two sons and John's new wife, Mandie and Jimmy's girlfriend, Audry. She loved her sons' friends and was like a 2nd Mother to many. Her friends were cherished. She spoiled all her pets, especially her dog, Bailey. Mo enjoyed cooking. Her favorite times were when her house was filled with people and laughter. She loved to go fishing with her son, Jimmy. Her sons were the most important things in her life. They were her life. For those of us who were fortunate enough to know her, she will always be missed. She was loved by many. The family would like to extend a special thanks and deepest gratitude to Mandie Caruso, Audry Singh and Kathy Fearnow, Mo's dear friend and co-worker, who stayed by Mo's side morning and night through her last weeks. Mo will be cremated and her ashes will be spread at her favorite fishing spot that she frequented with her son, Jimmy. Rest in Peace, our dear Mo.
