Pastor B. Sison WORLD BANK OFFICIAL, LONGTIME BOWIE RESIDENT Pastor Bravo Sison, a longtime resident of Bowie and a career officer of the World Bank, died on July 12 at his home at Riderwood Village in Silver Spring, Maryland. He was 85 years old and had lived in Bowie with his family for nearly four decades (Somerset 1962-1967 and Heather Hills 1968-2010). Mr. Sison joined the World Bank in 1968 and served as an advisor on East Asian projects and public affairs in a series of senior positions during his 25-year career. After his 1993 retirement, he served as a consultant to the Asian Development Bank as well as contributed regularly to several publications, including the Bowie Blade. Prior to joining the World Bank, Mr. Sison served with the United Nations Development Program and with the Society for International Development. Pastor Sison was born on March 29, 1928 in Lingayen, Pangasinan Province in the Philippines. He graduated from the University of the Philippines and from Harvard Law School, Harvard University. He taught law at the University of Baguio and served in government in the Philippines in the 1950s and was awarded the Republic of the Philippines Medal of Merit for Service in Agriculture for his contributions to his native country. In 1954, he married Veronica T. Travers; Mr. and Mrs. Sison were longtime parishioners of Sacred Heart Church in Bowie. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters (Michele Sison of Sri Lanka, Victoria Sison Morimoto (Miles) of North Carolina, and Cynthia Sison Morrissey (Patrick) of California) and nine grandchildren (Tom, Dan, Michiko, Alexandra, Jessica, Andy, Emiko, Siena and Gianna). Mr. Sison was predeceased by daughter Katherine (1957).
