Honorable David G. Ross, RET COL US Army, resident of Bowie, MD passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2013. David Gray Ross began his career as a young lawyer in Bowie, Maryland. He began his public service career in Maryland as a member and Chairman of the Prince George's County Community College Board of Trustees. He was elected to the Maryland House of Delegates in 1970, representing Prince George's County, where he proudly served for eight years. He went on to serve as a Judge on the 7th Circuit Court of Maryland and was honored as the "National Family Court Judge of the Year" in 1989. David was appointed in 1993 by President Clinton to lead the Federal Office of Child Support Enforcement and in 2008 as a member of President Obama's Transition Team. He retired as a Colonel from the United States Army. Judge Ross will be remembered as a fierce advocate, loyal leader, faithful friend and loving father and grandfather. David was the beloved father of Abigail R. Hopper (Greg) and Justin Ross (Nancy). Adoring grandfather of Madeline, Caroline, Ellie, Andrew, Jackson, Griffin and Katherine. Also survived by former spouse Jane Ross.
