Shirley A. Egerton

Shirley Ann Egerton, age 88, daughter of Harold and Louise Williams, and loving wife of the late Arthur Egerton, died early Sunday morning, May 19, 2013 at her Bowie Maryland residence. Her son and daughter were with her when she died. Shirley graduated from Lawrence General Hospital School of Nursing (Lawrence, Mass.) in 1945, and served as a registered nurse for over 60 years. During this time, she provided loving care in locations that included industries, hospitals, physician offices, and home hospice settings. In retirement, Shirley enjoyed traveling with her husband of 55 years, knitting, playing mahjong, spending time with her family, watching movies with friends, and helping to support others as an active member of the St. Matthew's Church "Angel Gang". Shirley is survived by her "little brother", her son and daughter, their spouses, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, many loving nieces and nephews, and numerous relatives.
