Norma Celia Dressler Loeffel was born March 26, 1927 in Bay City, Michigan. Norma spent most of her childhood in Maine until she moved with her family to Maryland in her teens. She graduated from Bladensburg High School, and was a proud member of the National Honor Society. On October 17, 1947, Norma married Bernard Loeffel. Norma worked as a secretary for the US Government until the birth of her three children, then with the help of her mother, devoted many years and much love to the raising of her children. Norma worked in the Elementary school cafeteria and in private industry before returning to work for the US Government. She was very proud of her work, particularly with the Fisheries Department of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, where she helped that department keep safe the seafood her whole family loves. After her beloved husband passed away in December 1999, she lived quietly with her family and many animal friends.
