Helen A. Kranert

June 6, 1920 — February 16, 2013

The Wind Beneath My Wings Helen Agnes Kranert, a resident of Bowie, MD, and beloved wife of the late Louis Edward Kranert, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2013. Her three daughters, Carole Henix of Teaneck, NJ, Helen (Debbie) Crosby of Davidsonville, MD, Roxanne Davis of Oakland, NJ, son-in-law Bob Davis and granddaughter Heather Sarno of North East, MD were there to give her comfort and love. She was one of four sisters who pre-deceased her, Louise, Emily and Josie. She has six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was born on June 6, 1920 in the small town of West Hoboken, New Jersey. She lived in Manhattan and later moved to Bogota, New Jersey. She was a retired telephone operator and secretary from the "Ma" Bell Telephone Company in New York. Some activities she liked was raking leaves, picking up pine cones, planting a little garden with tomatoes and pumpkin seeds, coloring Easter eggs and decorating for Christmas and enjoying get togethers with the family. In recent years, she enjoyed camping at Drummerboy Campground and attending the Apple Harvest Festival in Pennsylvania. She always loved anything to do with outer space. She often said "Fly Me To The Moon". She had the opportunity to watch several shuttle launches and meet astronauts at Cape Canaveral. One of the astronauts gave her his mission patch that flew with him on a shuttle mission which she wore on her purse with great pride. In remembrance of a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, you will live on with us in memories and spirit. You are now with God in Heaven and Daddy. You always enjoyed the simple things in life. the tweet song of birds, the colorful autumn leaves and wonderful smell of the springtime blooms. Our love lives on within our hearts and our memories will shine on.
