Harvey Hees Brown, 94, formerly of Hillcrest Heights, died on January 7, at the Regency Park in Gambrills. He was born October 28, 1918 in Spring Valley, IL, to Roy W. and Grace M. Brown. He graduated from MIT in 1940, and went to work for Lockheed in Burbank, CA. He served in the Navy as an ensign when WWII broke out, but continued to work for Lockheed. He went to work for the NACA (later NASA) at Ames Research Center, where he met Eileen Ruth whom he later married after moving to Washington DC. He served as Chief of the Loads and Structures Branch at NASA and retired in 1970. In retirement he served over 25 years as a volunteer docent at the Paul E. Garber facility of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, and also served for many years as an Election Judge. He was predeceased by his wife, Eileen Brown; daughter, Rebecca Hillegass; sister, Irene Brown; and brother, Maclean Brown. Survivors include his children, Jeffrey Brown (Michele) and Susan Sparks (Martin) of Spotsylvania, VA; brother, Roy W. Brown (Frances); three grandchildren, Michael, Gary, and Allison Hillegass; and three great-grandchildren.
