Margaret King Petruzzo

Margaret King Petruzzo, 69, of Bowie, MD, cherished wife, mother, and grandmother went to her eternal life on December 29, 2012. Margaret was born and raised in Roanoke, VA. After graduating from nursing school at the University of Virginia, Margaret was an officer in the U.S. Navy at the Naval Hospital in Charleston, SC, and later as a nurse at the National Institutes of Health and the Visiting Nurse Association, both in Washington, DC. While in Charleston, Margaret married Kenneth Stresing who died suddenly two years later. After marrying Charles and becoming pregnant with her first child, Margaret resigned to devote her energies to raising their three children. Margaret was a member of Sacred Heart Church, a member of its sodality, and a volunteer for various activities as needs arose. Margaret's affirmative approach to people drew them to her and affected them for the good. She will be sorely missed. Margaret is survived by her husband of 38 years, Charles, son Bill of Bowie, and daughters Theresa (Chris) Wellons of Davidsonville and Mary (Seth) Johnson of Ashton; by seven grandchildren; by a sister India King (Tommy) England of Hardy, VA; nephews Shane and Travis Moorman; and an aunt, Marie Creasey of Huddleston, VA. Family will receive friends at the Beall Funeral Home, 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rte. 3 South), Bowie, MD on Thursday, January 3, 2013 from 6-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Chapel, 16501 Annapolis Rd., Bowie, MD on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 11am, followed by interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
