Carolyn Sue Fells Tait was born in the Bronx, NY in 1942 to Edythe and Lenny Fells. Her late sister, Judy, was born three years later. The family moved to Silver Spring, MD in 1954. After completing some college, Carolyn worked as a legal secretary for a partner of a D.C. law firm. On September 10, 1967, Carolyn married Michael Tait. Mike and Carolyn eventually made their home in Bowie, MD where they welcomed the birth of their daughter, Joanne, in 1974. Carolyn stayed at home until 1983 when she began helping Mike with the operation of Tait Recording Services in Washington, DC. Mike and Carolyn enjoyed landscaping and their garden was a sanctuary to birds, squirrels, chipmunks and various critters. Carolyn always took care of the hummingbirds -- diligently changing their sugar water to keep them healthy and happy. She was an avid reader of mystery fiction and enjoyed her crossword puzzles. Carolyn and Mike were like second parents to Joanne's close friends -- always making room for one more at the dinner table. Famous for her lasagna, Carolyn was an excellent cook. Carolyn loved the ocean, especially Bethany Beach, DE where the family vacationed nearly every summer. She had a sweet and gentle nature that made her a beloved favorite of family and friends -- and the various dogs adopted through the years. That spirit lives on in those she deeply touched.
